Hey Folks,

Are you cold in your spirit? Have you stopped God from expanding your testimony? Do your praise match your blessings? If any of these questions sets you to thinking, we invite you to come to Bethel AME's First Friday Prayer. We will be at start on Friday, March 6 at 12:30, and we will talk to our Father until our hearts are content. We hope that you will join us. The season is ripe.

As we enter the Advent season, many of us are experiencing complicated emotions. We are hailing the Savior's birth even as we wrestle with economic temptation, academic difficulties, health dilemmas, and social uncertainty. If you need to probe such paradoxes, join us on Friday, December 5 between noon and 1PM at Bethel AME, 411 South Governor Street, Iowa City, IA. We welcome your physical presence, but if you cannot make it, feel free to send a prayer request to our email address, [email protected]

Last Sunday, our pastor reminded us that struggle shows character. Let us learn our identities using prayer to educate our spirits.

We welcome your physical presence, but if you cannot make it, feel free to send a prayer request to our email address, [email protected]

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.  He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

I John 4:7-8

The Bethel Church family invites you to join us this Sunday as we kick of a yearlong series of programs on activist fellowship.  In light of the homicides in Chicago, the shooting in Ferguson, the Ray Rice incident, and unrest in Eastern Europe and Africa, the times are straining our ability to see one another as neighbors.  Bethel wanted to host a worship experience that reminds us of a common ground on which we all can stand.  Following the morning service, there will be a free dinner.  Please join us in this celebration of the ties that bind.  If you have questions, then please email Michael Hill at [email protected]
